New Covenant primarily serves a retirement community, but we do have a small number of families who call New Covenant home. We strive to serve these families and their children and provide discipleship opportunties in a safe, fun, welcoming environment.

Coordinator, Student Ministry
Title: Coordinator, Student Ministry
Supervision: Associate Pastor, Congregational Care and Discipleship
Compensation: Part-time, Non-exempt (20 – 25 hours a week); nights/weekends/holidays
Working Relationships: The Coordinator, Student Ministry reports directly to the Associate Pastor and will coordinate NCUMC staff, laity, and students and their families.
General Job Description: They must be able to work independently and develop, plan, and execute student ministry programs and activities that reflect the mission, vision, values of NCUMC. Primarily responsible for building relationships with children, youth, and their families.

- Experienced in administering children/youth programs

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; candidate for ministry preferred
- Strong familiarity with Wesleyan theology and the United Methodist Church
- Capable and comfortable teaching Christian curriculum
- Competence with technology (Microsoft Office, database systems, and website)
- Possesses strong relational skills to counsel students and families with a spirit of grace and truth
- Must demonstrate a genuine love for people and maintain a good rapport
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Possesses a level of spiritual maturity which allows for leading others in their spiritual growth
Primary Ministerial Duties:
- Guide others spiritually that is consistent with the theological teachings of The United Methodist Church and New Covenant United Methodist Church
- Commitment to pray for the children/youth and all program volunteers, encourage and teach others, youth and volunteers, to pray for each other
- Discipleship Duties:
- Mentor and lead the Children and Youth to a life lived in the way of loving God and loving neighbor
- Promote spiritual development and direction for the complete family
- Build relationships with whole family to encourage participation, worship attendance, and spiritual growth as a family.
- Supervise/lead fun and uplifting weekly Christian Education and Fellowship programs for the children, youth and families
- Service
- Build ministry opportunities that grow a humble heart of servanthood, give leadership development opportunities, and value children, youth and families as contributors in the Kingdom and the church
- Identify and support opportunities for family mission work both within and outside the community
- Recruit adult volunteers; train, and equip
Other Primary Duties:
- Oversee temporary help/volunteers needed for Children’s Ministry, including the nursery.
- Oversee New Covenant’s Child Protection policy (CYPP)
- Fundraise to help support Youth Ministry activities
- Provide information for Weekly Word, Website, Social Media and Other Publications (including internal and external communication)
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and devotions
- Other duties as assigned
