We are a small but committed church just an hour from Austin, Texas and an hour from College Station, Texas. St. John’s is known in the community for itself outreach in the community and partnerships with the local schools. Joy is the word most encapsulates the spirit of St. John’s UMC. God’s joy has touched the lives of those who spirit, they share that joy with each other, and go out into the community to share God’s joy to others. Rockdale is in an exciting time of growth and change as new housing developments appear with Austin moving in our direction and big businesses coming in our area. Job Description

-Guide youth to becoming deeper disciples of Jesus Christ through teaching and Bible study

-Lead weekly youth gatherings and occasional mission projects (with the assistance of parent volunteers); Order needed materials and coordinate logistics for activities

-Ensure a safe, compassionate environment for the youth to have fun, learn about God, and grow as people

– Facilitate communication for upcoming events with youth and parents

-Coordinate parent and church member volunteers for weekly events and Sunday School

-Equip volunteers to be successful in assisting with youth

-Attend summer activities such as UM Army mission trip and Lakeview church camp with youth (additional summer bonus provided)

-Plan youth-led fundraisers as needed (all fundraisers must be approved by the Pastor and Board of Stewards)

Requirements

-Practicing and dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ

-High school diploma (Some college preferred)

-Valid Drivers License

-Passed background check

-Be present for approximately six hours per week in Rockdale, Texas at St. John’s UMC
