Middle School Youth Pastor to Females
This is a full time position that provides a salary commensurate with experience and outstanding benefits in a truth and grace filled work environment.
This full-time position is responsible for helping lead female youth into a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. The Middle School Youth Pastor to Females will work on a team with other youth staff and will focus primarily on 7th and 8th grade female youth ministry. This position will include casting vision for the middle school ministry, delivering large group messages, leading small group bible studies, managing a large team of volunteers, and supporting the entire youth ministry and church with its mission, vision, and strategy.
The Middle School Youth Pastor to Females must thrive in a fast-paced, highly relational, creative environment with tight deadlines and busy schedules.

FLSA Status: N/A due to Ministerial Exemption
Campus: Mockingbird Campus — Dallas, TX
Working Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Anticipated Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays from 9:00-5:30 p.m.; Wednesdays 12:30-9:00 p.m.; Sundays from 8:00-12:00 p.m. Includes a thirty-minute unpaid break Monday through Thursday.
During certain times of the year additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job. All church staff will be asked to support and serve on religious holidays and worship services including Christmas Eve and Easter.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
General
- Serve as the lead Youth Pastor for 7th-8th grade female students and their families
- Continually evaluate the HPUMC Youth strategy and our execution of this strategy
Create Strategic Environments
- Work with other HPUMC Youth staff to plan and execute all middle school environments
- Serve and share leadership with the Middle School Youth Pastor to males in these environments
- Share primary teaching responsibilities in middle school environments with the Middle School Youth Pastor to males and Pastor to Confirmation, Youth, and their Families
Cultivate Personal Relationships with Middle School Students
- Spend time each week with middle school students outside of weekly programming
- Recruit and train volunteers to cultivate appropriate personal relationships with middle school students
- Attend middle school extra-curricular events
Partner with Parents
- Intentionally develop and nurture personal relationships with parents
- Be proactive in communicating with parents regularly
- Help to engage parents in the ministry of the church
Model a Missional Mindset
- Actively engage in an ongoing relationship with one of HPUMC Youth’s community partners
- Help students actively engage in an ongoing relationship with one of our community partners
- Help students view their future through the lens of Christ’s calling on their lives
Meetings
- Attend all-staff meetings
- Attend monthly Family Ministries meeting
- Attend weekly HPUMC Youth department meetings
- Meet with the Pastor to Confirmation, Youth, and Their Families bi-weekly
Education & Desired Skills:
- Undergraduate degree required; post-grad education a plus
- 3+ years in Youth Ministry or ministry related field
- Experience in large church ministry
- Experience in delivering powerful biblical messages to youth regularly
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and positive attitude
- High degree of initiative and accountability
- Ability to manage and motivate volunteers
- Strong organization skills
Preferred Software Experience:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Google Suite
