We having a children’s ministry that is bursting at the seams with success and growth, and a steady youth program that is growing, but also in need of good and committed leadership. Fr. Zac Koons, Rector of St. Mark’s, has many years of Youth Ministry experience and will supervise and mentor our new Director to ensure they have support and success in this role. We also have a top-tier communications and media presence that needs to be taken over by someone competent in website management, graphic design, social media, and email newsletter management.

Position Overview
The Director of Youth and Digital Ministry (DYDM) is a key, full-time staff member responsible for two primary areas of responsibility:
- Youth Ministry – Lead all programming for Youth (6th – 12th grade).
- Digital Ministry– Manage all public-facing digital media and communications.
Youth Ministry Responsibilities:
- Lead Sunday morning youth formation classes during the school year.
- Plan and coordinate monthly youth activities outside of Sunday morning.
- Plan and coordinate summer trips and activities with Youth, including pilgrimages, mission trips, summer camps, etc.
- Communicate with youth and families, ensuring announcements are included in church communications and social media.
- Recruit and supervise the Youth acolyte program.
- Collaborate with clergy to identify high school students for the annual Confirmation class.
- Ensure all youth ministry activities comply with *Safeguarding God’s Children* policies and diocesan standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Rector.
Communications Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the church website, ensuring content is current and visually appealing.
- Oversee and execute the church’s social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), developing a strategic content plan.
- Maintain and troubleshoot livestream equipment for Sunday services and events.
- Occasionally document church events through photos/videos and maintain content libraries.
- Maintain the St. Mark’s Sermon podcast feed.
- Design and update printed materials, including the Ministries Booklet (Aug), Stewardship Magazine (Oct), Annual Report (Jan), and various flyers/graphics.
- Create and send electronic communications via Mailchimp, including the weekly e-news and special announcements.
- Integrate digital access points in physical spaces and printed materials (e.g., QR codes for online engagement).
Working Hours & Expectations:
- Full-time position with a flexible schedule. On-campus time vs. remote working time is to be negotiated seasonally with the Rector.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and be available for one-on-one meetings with staff to coordinate communication needs.
- On-campus required on Sundays from 8:30 am – 12:45 pm

- Three weeks paid vacation annually. After four years in this position, employee is entitled to four weeks paid vacation.

Qualifications

- Belief the Old and New Testaments of the Bible as God’s Word written, containing all things necessary for salvation; Agreement with the statement of faith found in the Nicene Creed.

- A commitment to excellence and professionalism.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring all ministry-related
- communications are frequent, timely, clear, and thorough.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher. Experience with youth education.
- Collaborative team player. Skilled in time management and ability to delegate. Comfortable with using email, phone, web and social media to communicate about and promote ministries and events.
- Can identify, recruit, manage, and encourage volunteer teachers and leaders.
- The Episcopal Diocese of Texas requires that the person in this role be a confirmed
- Episcopalian. Special exceptions may be made with the approval of the bishop. Non- Episcopalian applicants must be supportive of Episcopal tradition and worship.
