Equipping the local church

CYMT equips local churches with the tools necessary to develop sustainable youth ministries. CYMT partners with congregations to train youth ministers and develop the church’s youth ministry by working with pastors, volunteers, parents, and students.

There are two types of CYMT church partnerships described below:

Partner Church

Do you need help finding a quality youth minister?

Are you tired of the youth ministry revolving door?

Is your church ready to take the first step towards a full-time position?

Does your church believe in youth ministry but not know where to start?

The Center for Youth Ministry Training’s program places students at partner churches through an interview and church-match process. Students serve as their youth director for the next two years while going through the CYMT program. As a part of the program, partner churches receive coaching from a veteran youth minister who will work intimately with not only the CYMT student but also the church’s parents, volunteers, and staff to build a sustainable youth ministry. CYMT students work 25 hours per week as the youth director at their appointed congregations.

Training Church

Does your youth minister need theological and practical training for ministry?

Are ready for your youth ministry to flourish and grow?

Does your youth minister need training and support to help avoid burnout?

Is your youth minister looking at seminaries, but you would really like for her to stay?

The Center for Youth Ministry Training's program combines graduate level training with coaching for the church’s youth ministry. Training churches already have a full-time or part-time youth staff person. A veteran youth ministry coach will work intimately with the youth director and the church’s parents, volunteers, and staff to develop the youth ministry.
